Dear Mayor Anderson -
Congratulations on such a successful expedition! I am continually impressed at your efforts to promote environmental education and wish you and your team the best of luck. I am happy to report that the YouthCity at Liberty Park summer program is going incredibly well and our building is full of happy kids.
This summer we have dedicated one hour each day to academics and one day each week we invite community members to come to the park and teach our kids. So far this summer we have learned about stranger danger, healthy pet care and ownership, and your exciting trip to Italy. On Monday, Beverly Miller came and taught YouthCity about clean fuel cars and the SLC2Torino program. Our kids were VERY excited to learn about your dedication to clean fuel transportation and asked if you were REALLY riding your bike with the team.
I have asked a few of them to send you and your environmental colleges a few messages about YouthCity, Italian kids and your environmental programs. I think you will find them quite entertaining. Best wishes and come visit us when you get back…the kids would love to hear about your trip.
Onward and Upward!

**** Dear Mayor Rocky Anderson ,
Hi! My name is Gracie Rhyne and I'm one of the lucky kids that go to YouthCity. I'm 11 years old and currently go to Emerson Elementary. I am in the sixth grade.
I think it was a very good idea how you got the letter all the way to Italy . For one reason, because I am also really into saving the environment. Your environmental plans are (I think) awesome.
I go to YouthCity because, I would much rather do all these awesome classes than stay at home, watching movies and of course, rotting my brains. I love how all the classes are so awesome, and I'm sure some Italian Children would also love it. I mean, it gives you something to do that's worth doing. I'm positively sure the Italian children would love it, just like me!
Thanks,
Gracie Rhyne
**** Mayor Rocky Anderson,
My name is Gavin Thompson and I am 8 years old. This is my first summer at YouthCity. YouthCity is a place where Mom' and Dads send kids so they can work. My two favorite classes are Cooking and Outdoor Adventures. You should make YouthCity over there. It would be the best place in the world. Is it fun riding a bike in Italy ?
Gavin Thompson
**** Dear Rocky,
I'm Sarah Mason and I am 9. I lived a block away from YouthCity and every week we would walk by and look at YouthCity. I thought it looked fun and now I come everyday. My three favorite things are Film Making (we made a movie and now we are on our second one), Cooking and Swimming. I think the kids in Italy would like Home Crafts. I think that your bike ride is pretty cool. Have fun!

Dear Mayor Rocky Anderson,
My name is Gabrielle Valdez. I am 11 years old. I live in Salt Lake City . My favorite things to do at YouthCity is Outdoor Adventures. I like Outdoor Adventures, because I love the great outdoors. I go to YouthCity because I get to learn new things. I think Italian children would like a YouthCity, because it will allow them to learn more about their culture. I think that it is so cool that you went to Italy using only natural gas.
Sincerely,
Gabrielle Valdez
